On April 15th, we turn our attention to the greenery that breathes life into our indoor spaces as we celebrate International Interior Landscaper Day. This annual event is a dedicated moment to pause and appreciate the professionals who transform cold, sterile environments into vibrant, healthy sanctuaries.

Today, April 7, 2026, marks World Health Day. This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) has set a powerful theme: "Together for health. Stand with science." While we often think of "health" as a clinical term—stethoscopes, labs, and prescriptions—this year's focus on the One Health approach reminds us that human health is inextricably linked to the health of our animals, our environment, and specifically, our plants.

For years, the interior landscaping and living wall industry has championed the idea that plants are not just aesthetic additions but essential infrastructure for healthy living. A landmark report, Implementing Green Roofs and Walls: Lessons from European Experience, recently published by the European Union’s Publications Office and highlighted by EurekAlert has finally moved the needle, positioning green roofs and walls as "potent nature-based solutions" critical to the EU’s climate and biodiversity goals.
