plants@work announces revised committee and plans for the year ahead

Following our AGM on Wednesday 18 June 2025, we are pleased to confirm that there are only minor changes to announce about our plants@work committee. Kenneth Freeman will retain his position as Chair, “I am pleased to remain as Chair to help steer plants@work through another year which we look forward to being a busy and successful one.”

To support Kenneth, Shirley Anne Marshall and Prettpal Somel both of Ambius will share the supporting role of Deputy Chair. Membership and Diversity Secretary will continue in the capable hands of Ambassador Ian Drummond of Ian Drummond Botanical Designs while Shirley Smith of Botanica Nurseries will continue in the role of Social Secretary.

They will be supported by Craig Edser, regional manager at Nurture Landscapes Ltd and Stephen Dieppe, MD of phsGreenleaf and a representative from Urban Planters (still to be announced).

The year ahead
The first event during this ‘new year’ will be National Plants at Work Week 7 – 11 July. This year will follow a ‘Wish you were here’ postcard theme which will demonstrate that surrounded by lush green plants in whatever environment makes it a place to help you work well and happily.

Plants@work members will be able to include a picture of their own ‘green space’ in a ‘picture post card’ setting. All to promote their own expertise in the field.

We will promote the bigger (postcard) picture!

Regular meetings
We will continue our monthly Zoom committee meetings with the option to engage additional meetings where necessary. We also hope to meet up more regularly at events too; the first of these will be a casual get together, followed by our Awards Ceremony with a session of speakers during October.

Of course, we will continue to announce plans of what we are doing to support and promote the industry as they happen during the year.
