The Architects of Indoor Nature: Celebrating the International Interior Landscaper Day

on Tuesday, 14 April 2026. Posted in Latest News

Happy International Interior Landscaper Day!

Today, April 15, we pull back the curtain (and perhaps a few palm fronds) to celebrate the dedicated professionals who transform our sterile indoor environments into living, breathing sanctuaries. While the rest of the world might just see a "pretty plant in the corner," we know that behind every thriving fiddle-leaf fig and perfectly maintained living wall is a skilled interior landscaper.

Interior landscaping isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about well-being. Today is dedicated to the technicians, designers, and visionaries who bridge the gap between nature and the built environment.

While we celebrate the entire community today, we want to shine a special spotlight on three team members at phs Greenleaf who have set the gold standard for our industry. Their dedication, technical skill, and passion for plants are exactly why we celebrate International Interior Landscaper Day.

Malcolm Hall
Maintaining a "living wall" is no small feat, but Malcolm manages one of our most demanding features: a massive 20ft x 10ft living hydro wall.

Malcolm

Malcolm’s role demands a seamless blend of horticultural expertise and technical precision. By leveraging his deep plant knowledge, he ensures the hydro wall remains vibrant and thriving. His comprehensive skillset is regularly put to the test—from expert plant care and working at heights to the operation of portable water pumps and the strict application of health and safety protocols to protect himself and everyone on-site.

Beyond his technical skill, Malcolm is a pivotal mentor. During phs quarterly reviews, he generously shares "tips and tricks" with the rest of the team. His willingness to help others grow is a true testament to his character.

Alison Jones
With over 20 years at phs Greenleaf, Alison is a pillar of reliability and excellence. Her success is built on a foundation of being incredibly conscientious; she treats every route and every plant with the regular care and attention they deserve.

Alison

phs customers don’t just like Alison—they love her! She consistently receives Gold Star feedback for her service levels. If you’re looking for Alison’s expert recommendation, look no further than her favourite plant: the elegant Janet Craig.

Darren Finn
With 23 years of experience at phs Greenleaf, Darren is their resident expert in transformation. While many maintain greenery, Darren loves the process of creating and building living walls from the ground up to completely redefine a space.

Darren2

Darren is widely recognised for his meticulous attention to detail and an encyclopaedic knowledge of interior plant species. This deep expertise is fuelled by a genuine passion for greenery, particularly for his personal favourite, the Sansevieria, which he considers a standout in any interior landscape.

These professionals remind us that interior landscaping is about more than just watering plants—it's about technical mastery, customer relationships, and a lifelong commitment to bringing nature indoors.
Congratulations to Malcolm, Alison, and Darren for their well-deserved recognition!
