Ian Drummond Awarded "Best in Horticulture" at the 2025 UK Business Awards
Congratulations Ian Drummond, who has been officially recognised for his extraordinary 40-year contribution to horticulture. At the recently announced 2025 UK Business Awards, Ian was honoured with the prestigious "Best in Horticulture" title, specifically cited for his excellence in supporting and advancing the houseplant and interior landscaping sector.

If you’ve spent any time in the UK plant world over the last few decades, you’ll know Ian as the creative force who can turn any space—from a tiny apartment to a massive awards stage—into a lush, green paradise. Ian’s journey in the "green world" began long before he became a household name in design. Starting at the age of just 13, he spent his after-school hours and weekends at a local florist, dedicated to the care and maintenance of houseplants. It was here that his lifelong passion for indoor nature was cultivated.
Over the four decades that followed, Ian transformed that early curiosity into a career defined by leadership and innovation. He has become one of the UK’s most sought-after stylists, bringing the power of plants to high-profile institutions and events. His portfolio reads like a "who’s who" of British culture, featuring installations for BAFTA, London Fashion Week, and private commissions for icons like Sir Elton John.
While his work is definitely "Instagram-ready," Ian’s mission goes much deeper. As an author of At Home With Plants and plants@work Ambassador, he’s spent his career proving that plants aren't just decor—they make our offices, homes, and cities better places to live.
The UK Business Awards judges highlighted Ian as a standout figure whose work has consistently pushed the boundaries of how we perceive plants within built environments. Beyond his award-winning designs—including multiple medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show—Ian has been a tireless advocate for the biophilic design movement.

Reflecting on the win, Ian said, "I am delighted to win this award for my work in an industry that I love so much. It has been an incredible journey from those first days in the local florist to where I am today, and I am excited to see what the next 40 years bring!"
The "Best in Horticulture" award comes as part of the wider Petals, Passion, and Prestige celebrations by the UK Business Awards, which recognise the elite contributors to the floristry and horticultural sectors. Ian Drummond’s recognition serves as a testament to the growing importance of interior landscaping in our modern lives—proving that with four decades of dedication, passion truly does lead to prestige.
